Finding and documenting new bird species on a regular basis is a critical component to a successful big year. A chase is defined as the act of pursuing someone or something. In my case, The Chase includes not only the birds of Westerly, but its local territories, as well. As I chase, find, and check off birds on my target list, I will also be exploring and getting acquainted with the terrain of my new home town. If I happen to find a new bird while discovering a new territory all in one fell swoop – jackpot!
